  20.             Currently the software is implemented for 300 and 1200 baud
  21.             operation for the PK-232, and 300, 1200 and 2400 Baud
  22.             operation for the MFJ-1278.
  23.  
  24.             To initiate a connect press Alt-C. This will pull up the packet
  25.             connect list dialog box. Select the station that you wish to
  26.             connect with and TAB to the Connect button. If the baud rate
  27.             is included in the stations entry, the TNC will be set to
  28.             the correct baud rate. A future version will also set the
  29.             frequency if rig control is present.
  30.  
  31.             If you desire a station that is not included in your connect
  32.             list press Alt-C a second time, this will place a small
  33.             dialog box on the screen. Enter the station or node,
  34.             including any VIA's and press the enter key.
  35.  
  36.             NOTE -> If you do not wish to use the connect list
  37.                     feature, either delete or rename the file
  38.                     "packet.dat" in the program directory. If this is
  39.                     done only the manual dialog box will be displayed.
  40.  
  41.             If you wish to issue a disconnect press the Alt-D key
  42.             sequence.

  58.     Mheard List         ( F6 )

  60.         This will pull up the Mheard buffer from the TNC. If you wish to
  61.         'connect' to a particular station, highlight the selection and
  62.         press the mouse button or return key.
  63.  
  64.         In the AEA Host mode the first available open stream will be
  65.         chosen for the connect. This allows the user to use the Mheard
  66.         function to initiate Multi-Connects.

  84.      Mheard Clear   (Alt-F6)

  86.         This will clear the Mheard buffer in the TNC. This may also be
  87.         accomplished by pressing the Alt-F6 key.

  89.      Monitor View   (Alt-M)
  90.  
  91.         This option allows the user to Monitor the channel activity
  92.         during connects to other stations. The channel traffic will be
  93.         displayed in the background window (receive window). To toggle
  94.         between monitor on / off press the Alt-M keystroke sequence.
  95.         This option is only available for the PK-232 in Host Mode.

  97.      Remove Window (F9)
  98.  
  99.         This option allows the user to manually remove a window upon
  100.         disconnect. It is enabled by setting the Manual Remove option in
  101.         the Pac Win Mode Menu. This is located in the Setup Menu.

  103.      Auto-Connect On / Off
  104.  
  105.         This selects the call capture mode. When enabled, the program
  106.         will search the headerline of the packet frame for the call to
  107.         be captured. If the call appears, the program will attempt to
  108.         connect to the other station. If unsuccessful after 20 seconds a
  109.         disconnect will be issued. MSTAMP must be off for this option to
  110.         work correctly.

  113.      Connect List Append
  114.  
  115.         The connect list append feature is used to add new stations to
  116.         your personnel connect list. If you do not wish to use the
  117.         Packet Connect list simply delete the 'PACKET.DAT' list in your
  118.         program directory.

  134.         If the baud rate is included in the database the TNC will be
  135.         automatically set to the correct rate. If the baud rate is less
  136.         than or equal to 300 baud the mode will be set to HF, otherwise
  137.         the mode will be VHF.

  139.      Packet Connect List

  141.         The packet connect list is similar to the APLink boards
  142.         directory. For detailed instructions refer the APLink List
  143.         information.

  162.      Mail Box   (F1)
  163.  
  164.         This option is available for AEA TNC's only.  This allows the
  165.         user to access the internal mailbox in the PK-232.  Messages may
  166.         be viewed, printed and saved to a disk file.  This option is
  167.         available while in AMTOR, Packet or Pactor.  All mail box
  168.         command options are displayed in the center status window of the
  169.         program.

  171.         Exiting the Mail Box (Ctrl-B)
  172.  
  173.                 This command closes the mail box window and returns the
  174.                 program to normal operation.
  175.  
  176.         Editing a Message    (Ctrl-E)
  177.  
  178.                 This option allows the user to edit the destination of a
  179.                 message.  For help on the commands available, press the
  180.                 Help button on the Edit box.  Additional information on
  181.                 these commands is available in your TNC's user guide.

  183.         Killing a Message    (Ctrl-K)
  184.  
  185.                 This allows the user to kill a message in the mail box.
  186.                 To use this command,  simply press Ctrl-K and enter the
  187.                 message number to be deleted.  Be sure to finish up by
  188.                 hitting enter.

  190.         Listing Messages     (Ctrl-L)

  192.                 Lists the current contents of the mail box.

  194.         Reading Messages     (Ctrl-R)

  196.                 This allows the user to read a message in the mail box.
  197.                 To use this command,  simply press Ctrl-R and enter the
  198.                 message number to be read.

  204.         Sending a Message    (Ctrl-S)

  206.                 Allows the user to enter a message.  Press Ctrl-S, enter
  207.                 to whom the message is to go, enter the subject and
  208.                 press the enter.  You will see the message...

  210.                 Input Message and Press Control-Z to End"
  211.  
  212.                 You have two methods available when entering messages.
  213.  
  214.                      1. The first is to simply type the message in by
  215.                         hand.
  216.  
  217.                      2. And the second is to send a file to the mail
  218.                         box by using the Transmit File (Alt-T) option in
  219.                         the 'Files' menu.

  221.         Saving Messages
  222.  
  223.                 To save a message in the main box...
  224.  
  225.                      1. Press Alt-R, this will bring the File Selector
  226.                         up on the screen. The default directory is the
  227.                         Download Directory (configured during setup).
  228.  
  229.                      2. Press the 'F',  this will position you to the
  230.                         File Name field.  Enter the filename and and
  231.                         press the enter key.
  232.  
  233.                      3. Press the 'O' key (Ok).  This will open a
  234.                         capture file for the mail box.
  235.  
  236.                         Use either the List or Read commands to copy
  237.                         data to the capture file.  To end the capture
  238.                         press Alt-R and this will close the file.

  240.         Printing Messages
  241.  
  242.                      1. Go to the 'Files Menu' and select 'Printer
  243.                         Toggle'.
  244.  
  245.                         Use the List and Read commands to send data to
  246.                         the printer.
  247.  
  248.                      2. To turn print off, go the 'Files Menu' and
  249.                         select 'Printer Toggle' again.
